The sculpture and paintings, Abstract Art from 1920 to 1950, are isolated from the context of space to allow the lightness and humor of the art to be fully appreciated. Because the spaces are defined primarily by a perimeter of walls, the creation of a focus in the center of each of the rooms would have greatly modified this perception.
Each room was therefore designed as a sort of central “island” for exhibiting sculptures.
