15th middle age Convent, Roccaverano, Italy
Program: renovation and transformation into a house
Size: 350 sqm
Status: completed in 2014
The middle age almsgiver friars’ convent, had been transformed in late 1700 into a little farm.
The building went afterwards into ruin and partially collapsed.
The restoration was made with local stone with the traditional masonry pattern. Ceilings, floors and doors are in old wood rescued from demolitions of ancient buildings.
Adaptation to residential use has implied the creation of a kitchen in a all-glass pavillion that connects the house with the rural annex.
